First Grade Art

First Grade students are can-do kids. They have unstoppable enthusiasm and rarely balk at projects. They love painting and learning how to draw something ( to the extent that they will repeat the drawing all day!).

This year we will focus on our "Big" Question, "Why do artsists make art?" We will encorporate what we learned last year and expand this years creativity.

One of my favorite artists we will be studing is Claude Monet.

Projects we will be working on by the artist are:

*Monets Poplars

*Vase of Flowers

*Monets Boats

* Reflection on the Seine

*Water Lily Clay Bowl

*Waterlilies

Art elements and concepts we will focus on are: Line, Shape, Color, Depth, Form, Symetry and Balance, Collage.
